Where are they now:
Sophie currently works at Medicines Discovery Catapult developing ‘brain-on-a-chip’ models. Organ-on-chip models consist of growing different types of cells three-dimensionally inside microfluidic chips, in this case providing cell models that mimic the complexity of the brain more closely than growing cells on flat surfaces as is the current standard.
